We have a global presence in the production and distribution of passenger, light truck, commercial, and motorcycle tires. Our southcentral regional DC services Texas and the contiguous states including Mexico.  Our business growth will provide high performing candidates with opportunities for advancement, as well as a challenging, rewarding work environment.

Position Summary

The Transportation DC Manager reports to the General Manager of our Southcentral Regional DC located in Grand Prairie, TX. The Assistant & General Manager have joint responsibility for:

  • Managing daily operations
  • Hiring, staffing, and training warehouse staff and drivers
  • Managing quality standards inside the four walls
  • Achieving productivity, sales, and service targets
  • Maintaining a safe work environment
  • Building on our culture of respect, professionalism, integrity, and an overall great place to work
  • Protecting company assets/insuring compliance with company policies in all activities
  • Providing best in class service to our valued customers
  • Driving continuous business process improvement

The typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, however during peak periods those hours are subject to change. Some Saturdays required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a supervisory or management role in a distribution center/manufacturing environment or other operations role
  • Experience working with fleet/driver management or third party freight is desirable
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English speaking is preferred
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours if needed
  • Bachelors degree in related field is preferred
  • Experience with Oracle ERP or similar WMS software is desirable
  • Experience implementing Six Sigma, TQC, Kaizen, lean operating processes, or statistical process controls is a plus
  • Experience with TMS software, RF/RFID software / hardware systems is a plus
  • Experience with ISO documentation standards and/or general process flow documentation is a plus
  • Experience in the tire or automotive industry particularly working with auto OEMs is a plus
