Position Summary

Sumitomo Rubber North America, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to fill the open position of Account/Program Manager in the Original Equipment (OE) Sales office in Troy, Michigan. Ideal candidate will be capable of building and maintaining strong working relationships, independent problem solving, self-starter, desire to exceeding expectations, and leading people and projects without direct reporting relationships.  Responsible for all aspects of account and program management for assigned Original Equipment Manufacture(s) serving as primary customer contact for commercial and general business topics.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of assigned OEM/SRNA relationship
  • Act as primary contact for all commercial and general business activities
  • Responsible for becoming proficient per assigned OEM customer
  • Understand all OEM requirements and process for new and existing business
  • Ownership and accountability for OE customer satisfaction
  • Support customer projects and deliverables / On-time – On-target
  • Customer lead for CFT topics and action items
  • Handle specific OE customer inquiries
  • Review OEM quotation packages and follow-up on business opportunities
  • Quote and negotiate new business opportunities
  • Track and resolve customer open issues
  • OEM portal management responsibility
  • Manage customer pricing adjustments and RMI activities
  • Regular scheduled customer visits
  • Support OEM visits to SRI/SRNA
  • Support MTP and strategic customer planning activities
  • Gather business intelligence and information related to new opportunities
  • Support SRNA Rancho Office – quality/delivery/finance/supply chain

 

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree Business / Engineering or equivalent
  • Computer skills including all MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and processes
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a global/international environment and collaborate with the international team
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • 5-10 years automotive industry experience
  • Preferred prior experience with FCA/WV
